Hello, my name is Gwendolyn Lewis.
I am the speech trainer at Lingua East.
What is speech training?
Speech training, sometimes referred to as accent modification or accent reduction, is a technique for changing the way you speak. I use my voice, pen and paper, and technology to teach people who speak English as a second language the tools they need to sound more like a native speaker.
How does it work?
I apply methods from speech-language pathology to help people produce the sounds and intonation of Standard American English. Using evidence from research in the areas of learning, neuroscience, and linguistics, I guide my clients toward speaking success.
How long does it take?
A typical round of speech training lasts approximately three months, with one session each week. Sessions usually take between 60 and 90 minutes. For maximum benefit, speech practice outside of sessions is strongly advised.

-Now I can talk more and have confidence and I think that I can pronounce more correctly.
-Excellent teaching. Now I’m more confident when I speak.
-It was very different than other English classes that I had before. It was personalized and a small group.
